Vacancy for Research Fellow and Post-Doctoral Fellow.

Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) under the Ministry of Planning is inviting applications from bonafide Bangladeshi nationals for the post of Research Fellow and Post-Doctoral Fellow.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree, two years of teaching/research experience excluding the period spent in Ph.D. program and two publication in a peer reviewed journal (equivalent at least to Bangladesh Development studies - BDS) | |

The candidate must have a recent Ph.D. degree in economics/social science or a related field and relevant post-doctoral experience would be preferred but not essential. She/he must be able to initiate and carry out high quality research independently. |
* BDS means Bangladesh Development Studies, which is a quarterly journal published by the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies.
The candidates for RF and P.DF are expected to have a background in economics, development studies, politics, sociology, anthropology, population studies or a related field. BIDS is particularly looking for people with a background or expertise in health, education, agricultural economics and population studies. PhD requirement can be relaxed for otherwise excellent candidates for the post of SRF and RF.

Applicants are not required to send pubslications or certificates electronically or by post at this stage. An electronically generated acknowledgement receipt of the application will be sent to the applicant. If the applicant does not receive it in two days, it may be sent directly by post to the Secretary, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, E-17, Agargaon, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka-1207.
Candidates already in service should apply through proper channel.

“Bangla New Year 1426” was celebrated on 15th April, 2019 at BIDS premise. The staff of BIDS organized a joyous and colourful cultural programme. Traditional dishes like chotpoti, sweets, lemon juice, pitha-puli, jilapi etc. were served in the event.
Dr. K A S Murshid, Director General of BIDS, congratulated the staff for arranging this New Year celebration event successfully and wished them good health and success for the upcoming days.
